CASE STUDY DELL

Client: Dell Experience Design Group

Project:

Biometrics Study

About the project:

As usage of biometrics becomes prevalent in daily life of Chinese people, Dell Experience Design Group turned to us and wanted to know the needs and behaviors of biometrics in both business and consumer world and inform future product strategy.

We started by collecting end-users’ daily use of biometrics through an online diary. With the initial insights and questions from the diary and trend synthesis, we invited end users for a workshop where they brainstorm ideas and test a few prototypes. By attending to a larger social and cultural context of biometrics, we were able to identify new opportunity areas otherwise would be ignored or misunderstood in stand-alone lab tests.

The final result is being used to inspire next generation biometrics strategy in both commercial and consumer products.
